HELPING YOURSELF TO BETTER HEALTH
Today , we travel from Kenora to our last venue in the North, Dryden Ontario. We certainly have enjoyed the beautiful weather and the spectacular pristine scenery in this great country.
As we travel from one event to the next, I have lots of time to think about how I can best explain the benifits of good health and the importance of keeping good health for as much of our lives as possible. Governments and private research groups are coming out with new studies almost every week telling us that we must start taking better care of ourselves if we want to live without illness. Our health care facilities are stretched to their limits and we are continually being warned that proper health care will be at a premium in the years to come. The Canadian Medical Association recently released a report stating that 80% of Canadians worry about our healthcare system and how much it will decline over the next few years. What better reason is needed to begin putting our personal health regime into place?
Our budgets are tight, with high unemployment and everything seems to be rising in cost from utilities to clothing and food. However, if we are going to maintain our health it is imperitivethat we begin changing our priorities. What to do? We all like the frills and the treats, but it may be necessary to give up or cut back on some things in order to have money for quality supplements or other products needed to keep us healthy. Time is another factor. It is so easy to pick up the quick takeout or frozen package after a hard day at work rather than go home and cook a more nutritious meal from scratch. However, with a little planning and maybe cooking in larger quantities on the weekend, you can make a casserole, stew or soup to help you get through the week. You’ll be surprised at what you can achieve. There are hundreds of recipes in cookbooks and on the internet. Use your imagination. You don’t necessarily have to follow a recipe to the letter. Use what you have available. Challenge yourself to prepare tasty healthy meals and snacks for your family. Your efforts will be rewarded with better health and wellbeing.
Perhaps you go to the spa for facials and massage, waxing etc. Even if you cut the times you go and put that money into better, natural and pure products that you use daily on your face and body, the long term benefits will be well worth it.

BENEFITS OF SPICES
As the saying goes, everything old is new again. Prescription drugs can be life saving but they can also have adverse affects on our health. With our over worked health care system that financial and medical experts alike are warning is gong to fail, we should all be trying to do wha we can to keep ourselves in good health. Every small thing we do to improve our health helps, even if we just have a cup of healthy coffee, it all contributes to our health. Hence, I wanted to share some of the benefits of Cinnamon and honey that were passed on to me by my friend from Shaklee, Martha Wilmore. Spices and oils have been used to benefit healthfor thousands of years. Wars have been fought to gain control of them. I have researched a lot over the last few months and I will continue to share these facts with you over the next while as time permits me to post them to site. I must remind you tho, to proceed with caution when beginning any new procedure and discusss any changes with your doctor. Most doctors today are in agreement with diet changes to help you keep well.
BENEFITS OF CINNAMON AND HONEY
ARTHRITIS
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spooons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly, even chronic arthritis can be reduced. In a recent research study conducted at Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon of honey and a half teaspoon of cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, most of the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started waling without pain.
COLDS
Even the most severe colds can respond to this simple treatment. Take one tablespoon of lukewarm honey with 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon daily for three days. It can also help clear sinuses.
IMMUNE SYSTEM
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of honey strenghens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral diseases.
WEIGHT LOSS
Daily, in the morning, one half hour before breakfast on an empty stomach and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly, reduces the fat accumulation in the body even though you may eat a high calorie diet.
UPSET STOMACH
Honey taken with cinnamon powder reduces stomach ache and also reduces stomach ulcers..
CHOLESTEROL
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon mixed in 16 ounces of green tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10% within two hours. If taken 3 times a day, any chronic cholesterol is dramatically reduced. Always look for quality honey, organic if possible and quality cinnamon like WATKINS, that is made from the fines grades of cinnamon and contains no fillers.
